The West Campus of George Mason University is a long-underleveraged part of our Fairfax presence and the university’s long-term master plan has for years envisioned development that will benefit our students and the greater university community.
The university will continue to provide opportunities for the campus and Fairfax communities to engage and provide input and feedback on proposed uses and concepts for West Campus development. George Mason remains committed to working together to provide functional, well-maintained, and beautiful places that provide a high-quality environment for learning, discovery, engagement, and growth.
At the heart of this planning is the belief that bringing more students, faculty, and staff together in a unified space with state-of-the-art facilities will foster engagement and meet the growing needs of our campus community. It is about community-building and vibrancy. We believe this happens when we are closer together. We also believe that a new West Campus area has great potential to serve the surrounding community.
