West Campus Planning

The West Campus of George Mason University is a long-underleveraged part of our Fairfax presence and the university’s long-term master plan has for years envisioned development that will benefit our students and the greater university community.

The university will continue to provide opportunities for the campus and Fairfax communities to engage and provide input and feedback on proposed uses and concepts for West Campus development. George Mason remains committed to working together to provide functional, well-maintained, and beautiful places that provide a high-quality environment for learning, discovery, engagement, and growth.

As of March 28, 2024, the university has decided not to move forward with the Washington Freedoms on negotiations to build a temporary baseball and cricket stadium on West Campus. For more information, read the message from President Gregory Washington.
